After week three trouncing in New York, things won’t get any easier for the Falcons this Sunday. They will travel to Atlanta in their next contest to take on the 3-0 Falcons. This team has a revamped offense that has been led by an early MVP candidate in Matt Ryan. Ryan has some great weapons in Roddy White and Julio Jones which he has used to put up some of the best stats of any QB this season. It won’t be an easy task for the Carolina defense to stop him, they can only hope to contain him.
The only way I see this being a close game is if the Carolina offense can come out of their shell and score some major points. They will not be able to keep Atlanta to low figures, they just don’t have the defensive talent to stop the firepower of Atlanta’s offense. However, if Cam Newton plays up to his level, he can also score a whole lot of points. With Jonathan Stewart likely to be back for this game, they can try to slow down the game with a stout running attack. That may be their only hope.
Atlanta looks very strong this year, and could be playing their best football all year at this point. They have the chance to put a serious gap between them and the rest of the NFC South, so they aren’t likely to slip up just yet. Carolina will need to be on their A game, and that still might not be enough.
