Good news for the Panthers is bad news for the Giants. In a surprising move, Hakeem Nicks is ruled out for Thursdays matchup. New York is already missing Domenik Hixon with a concussion, so they are a bit thin at WR. Victor Cruz is still fine, so Eli will still have one of his top targets. Ramses Barden has shown flashes of skill and Reuben Randle has plenty of talent as a rookie. Still, with Bradshaw also out at this point, the offense is lacking a lot of depth. That could lead some more mistakes by the offense that has already shown they are turnover prone.
The bad news is that Stewart looks unlikely to play at this point. We saw how much the offense struggled without him in week one, and how great they were when he played in week two. Of course, I doubt that Jonathan Stewart is the sole reason for the difference, but he is clearly an important cog to the offense. When it comes down to it, New York is affected much more from injuries for tomorrow’s game.
